The Audiopad is a good idea, but I wonder if it wouldn't be more responsive if built with a Wacom tablet instead of the radio tag thingies. A couple advantages advantages: 512 degrees of pressure sensitivity (essential for any real instrument), Greater resolution, and Faster response times. However, it may not be able to track more than one point at a time, which could be a deal breaker.
